Objective
of the Training
- Sensitize
girls on the discrimination and violence faced by them in the
society and aware them about their rights as a Human Being.
- Informed
the girls about Domestic Violence act and its Usage
Proceedings
Training programme
was started with a formal introduction of participants this
was helpful in developing communication bridge between participants
and trainer. After the interactive introduction, participants
were asked about their expectations from this training programme.
Following expectations were come from participants:-

How we prevent Violence on women
-
Why Violence always faced by Women
-
Why girls are always restricted to go outside the House or marked
area.

Why Violence Occurs.
-
What is the reason behind the discrimination between the girls
and boys?

What are the rights of the girls and how the girls exercise
their rights?

After knowing
the expectation of girls Ms Nitu started her session. She started
her session by describing the society, its component and patriarchal
structure. She explains them in details about how women
are web in this patriarchal society.
After a short
Tea break the training programme was started with full enthusiasm.
This section of training programme was based on the domestic violence.
In this session participants were informed about the type of violence,
emergence of need of enactment of Domestic violence
act, its silent features.
She also explains the DIR (Direct Information Report) under Domestic
violence act.
The theoretical session
was followed by a group exercise in which participants were divided
into four small groups and each group was given a small story
based on the violence and some related questions. Each group was
allotted 20 minute for discussion on the story and write answers
according to their understating of the asked questions.
After completion of the
task each group presented their story and answers. Every presentation
was followed by the round of the discussion.
Post lunch Session
Post lunch session was
devoted to the topic that how we do help of our self and others
in case of facing the problems .Girls was also informed about
the provisions under this act.
Then after a small group
exercise was done in which girls were divided into two big groups.
Each group was given an imaginary situation in which they were
told that they are traveling in a bus and their bus was lost at
an unknown place. One team was told that they feel that they are
the group of men and other one is group of women and then each
group was given a task that they should write the problems as
a male and a female in locating their bus.
After 15 min of allocated
time both the groups presented their assigned task. Interestingly
the group one play role of male group was not listed a single
problem and the female group listed so many threats. This exercise
was helpful for girls in sketching the difficulties faces by women
in our surroundings.
During the last session
of the training programme an educational game named as “Question
Bank” was played with the participant, in which so many
misconceptions regarding domestic violence was written on the
small paper. Each girl picks a paper and answers the questions
written on the paper regarding the misconception related to the
domestic violence. Each misconception was also discussed by the
trainer in brief.
Back –Home Plans
The
girls were assigned task to write one page experience
of orientation programme and also informed five other girls
of the community about the learning’s and knowledge of
orientation programme
The
programme was concluded by consolidation of the training programme
and vote of thanks by Ms Ritu.
