Orientation Trainings
organized for the selected Panchayat leaders in Bihar
After a considerable
gap of years once again Sahbhagi Shikshan Kendra (SSK) has started
organizing training programmes in the state of Bihar. On the request
of Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Ranchi office, four training
programmes of three days duration each has been organized at Patna,
Bhagalpur and Bettiah. These trainings were organized to orient
selected PRI leaders from the working areas of three partner agencies
of CRS Ranchi office namely Bihar Water Development Society, Patna,
Bhagalpur Social Service Society, Bhagalpur and Bettiah Diocesan
Social Service Society, Bettiah.
In total 109 leaders
of PRIs participated in these training courses. All of them were
from disaster prone Panchayat areas. Objectives of the trainings
were:

To sensitize elected leaders on their roles and responsibilities,
government schemes (NREGA, ICDS, National Family Benefit Scheme,
National Old Age Pension Scheme, Annapurna Yojana, Antyodaya
Yojana, Targeted public distribution system) on which they can
enable their communities to reap benefits from.

To prepare a practical action plan for implementation.
